Step 5: Preparing your Display

Are you excited yet? It's time to start thinking about designing your display!



Display Sizes

2ft, 3ft and 4ft Displays

  • 
    • All 2ft, 3ft and 4ft displays must be a maximum of 1.5ft deep.
    • Any displays that are over their width or over depth will be subjected to an oversized fee.
    • All 2ft, 3ft and 4ft displays are provided by the vendor and can be different formats (peg board, hooks, clothing rack, etc) and do not necessarily have to be a shelf.

Signage

  • Signs can be a maximum of 3ft tall and can be mounted directly to the wall above your display. Signs must be made of a solid material such as wood or plastic, or be a framed print of your logo!

Entry Shelf

  • 1.5ft Wide
  • 1ft Deep
  • 18in between rows
  • 3x rows
  • Exact measurements vary slightly by store, please contact your store directly for specific measurements
  • Printed signage such as a logo or "about the maker" in a postcard size can be affixed onto the entry shelf, or placed in a frame on the shelf
  • Entry shelves are provided by the store

Entry Shelf Variations

NOTE the dimensions above are an approximation. Since all of our entry shelves are handmade wooden shelves, dimensions may vary slightly by location. If you need precise measurements for your display pieces, it's best to reach out to the store directly to confirm the exact dimensions by using the contact info here.



Security Tags & Labels

All product must have printed labels in the format described here: Labeling, Coding + Pricing Your Products All Makers locations are equipped with security towers! Security Tags (RF 8.2Mhz) are available free of charge to a limit of 100/day. Please pick these up and apply them to your product before setup or order your own roll! Recommendations

  • For 2ft and 3ft spaces, please include LIGHTS, all displays will have access to power
  • Light wood or white shelving is recommended, darker shelving can work, but lighting is absolutely needed for them.
  • A BIO or 'About You' with information about your story, where you are from, and what makes your products special!
  • It is strongly recommended for those who sell food and bath and body products to seal all products for sale that are not testers. This is to avoid having customers open, test, damage or use new products that are not meant to be opened. If you do choose to have testers, please mark it clearly on product so customers know it can be used.


The following requirements must be met:

  • Your space must be fully stocked upon move in, including products that pertain to your product category.
  • You must continue to keep your space fully stocked at all times. Maintenance of your space is encouraged on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Your display, product and props must fit within your assigned space dimensions.
  • Your display may be mounted to the wall, subject to approval from Store Management
  • Any damage to the walls (including screw holes) must be repaired within 7 days of a shelf being moved or removed. Mounting into the wall does not exempt you from standard store remerchandising and shelf movement policies.
  • A $150 repair fee will be applied to the card on file if damage is not repaired within 7 days.
  • You must bring signage that is clear and aesthetically pleasing, and include business cards with your contact information.
  • If you require tools to set up your display, please bring your own. Retail stores do not supply tools or building materials.
  • Do not paint or wallpaper to your wall, as our policy is to keep all walls in the store white. Peel and stick paper is not permitted.
  • All garbage (i.e. cardboard, bags, etc.) must be removed from the store after your set up. If you have made a mess, please sweep/mop up your mess before leaving the store.
