New vendors will receive Stripe setup instructions during the final onboarding process. If you have not received a signup link by your first payout date, email [email protected] with the subject line "Requesting Stripe Link."
You can log in to your Stripe account at https://express.stripe.com/.
- Username: Your registered email address
- Password: Created during setup
To update the bank account linked to your payouts:
- Click the menu icon (top right) and select Shop Makers.
- Under Payout Details, click the Edit button next to your bank account.
- Enter your updated Transit Number, Institution Number, and Bank Account Number. Important: Avoid clicking the "Delete" button, as this may lock your account. Use the "Edit" button instead.
To view detailed payout information:
- Go to the Payouts tab.
- Review your transactions, including dates, amounts, and fees.
Ensure your sales payouts align with your transactions:
- Review Your Payout Summary Email
- Check your payout email for a breakdown of the transfer amount and sales period.
- Match with MVPOS Transactions
- Compare the payout details with your MVPOS transaction history for the same period.
- Report Discrepancies
- Funds Not Transferring:
- Ensure a bank account (not a debit/credit card) is linked.
- Remove any secondary accounts under Payout Details in your Stripe dashboard.
- Verify Your Email Address:
- Confirm your email is verified and active to complete setup.
- Check Account Status:
- Log into your dashboard to resolve any pending notifications or incomplete details.
Stripe requires business verification. Follow these steps:
- Business Name: Enter your full legal business name.
- Business Type: Select the correct type (e.g., sole proprietorship).
- Address: Use your registered business address.
- Tax Details: Provide your tax number (e.g., GST/HST for Canadian businesses) or indicate you’re not registered.
- Identity Verification: Upload a government-issued ID (e.g., passport).
- Business Verification: Provide a business document (e.g., articles of incorporation, tax registration).
- Address Verification: Upload proof of address (e.g., utility bill).
Tips:
- Ensure all documents are clear and legible.
- Use consistent business information across documents.
You can verify your account in two ways:
- Complete a quick selfie check via the Stripe Dashboard.
- Upload:
- A government-issued ID for identity verification.
- A separate document (e.g., utility bill) for address verification. Important: Do not use the same document for both identity and address verification.
If you encounter issues uploading documents:
- Restart your browser (Google Chrome recommended).
- Clear your browser cache or try a different browser.
- Use a desktop computer instead of a mobile device.
- Upload alternative documents if possible.
- I received an email from Stripe asking for more information. What should I do?
- Log in to your account and provide the requested details.
- I don’t have a website. What should I provide?
- Use your social media handle or the Makers website as an alternative.
- I don’t have a customer service phone number. What should I enter?
- Use a placeholder like 000-000-0000.
- Do I need a new Stripe account for Makers?
- No, log into your existing account and add your details under the Shop Makers profile.
For ongoing issues:
- Use the Support function in your Stripe account.
