Mature Product Policy

coming into effect aug 1, 2025 in light of recent feedback we've received, we regretfully must implement the following policy while we truly value and support our artists and their creative expression, we also have to balance that with our commitment to maintaining a family friendly environment—especially given that most of our locations are in malls with significant foot traffic from children, teens and families with that in mind, any products that depict or are shaped as genitalia may continue to be sold at makers, provided they meet the following display requirements below note that at this time, products with profanity, as well as non genitalia “private” body part based products (aka breasts, buttocks, etc) are still permitted to be sold at makers with no restrictions 1\ permitted with restrictions products that include visual depictions or sculptural representations of genitalia are permitted for sale at makers, provided they meet the requirements below 2\ mandatory concealment these items must be covered using a barrier such as a screen, curtain, box, or other suitable method the concealment must effectively prevent the item from being immediately visible to customers browsing the space if placed on an entry shelf, or a display that is visible from all sides, all sides of the mature products must be concealed please see below for examples and resources 3\ placement requirements these products must be positioned higher on the shelf, out of the direct line of sight of children items placed at child eye level or lower will be required to be moved or removed 4\ labeling discreet signage is permitted on the screen/barrier to indicate the nature of the product acceptable labels include, but are not limited to “mature” “18+” or “19+” (depending on province) vendor’s brand name 5\ enforcement store management reserves the right to request modifications to displays that do not comply with the above repeated non compliance may result in the removal of affected products if genitalia based products are placed on your shelf at makers without a screen or barrier, they will be removed this policy may also include products that fall within a 'grey area' and/or products that have received susbtantial concerned customer feedback for clarity, please ask your store manager we appreciate your understanding and collaboration as we work to create a shopping environment suitable for all ages! examples and resources 1\ acceptable barrier materials hard barriers acrylic, plastic, plexiglass or metal soft barriers curtain (fabric) or shower curtain (plastic) barriers of any kind must either be opaque , or slightly see through so as to only see the shape or shadow of the object behind it the mature products must not be completley visible through the barrier example 1 example 2
