Stripe Setup and Troubleshooting

shop makers uses stripe express to send your sales earnings directly to your bank account twice a month, on the 1st and 16th you will set up your stripe express account once during onboarding using the one time setup link in your makerspos settings this is where you provide the banking information needed for your sales payouts important your sales tracking happens in makerspos stripe only shows payout activity after shop makers sends your payout before you start have the following ready a desktop or laptop (recommended) a valid photo id (driver's licence, passport, or government issued id) your bank account details bank name transit number institution number account number business registration or tax information, if applicable the email address connected to your shop makers account before opening your stripe setup link allow pop ups from connect stripe com use chrome or edge on a desktop do not use incognito or private browsing setting up your stripe account step 1 open your makerspos settings log in to your makerspos https //pos shopmakers ca account click on settings in the menu on the left click the "set up stripe" button this will direct you to the stripe set up page the link will open a new stripe window step 2 start stripe express onboarding click get started or complete setup stripe may ask you to select your country confirm your email address verify your phone number step 3 enter your business information complete each section accurately business information enter legal business name business type (sole proprietor, corporation, charity, etc ) business address and phone number owner or director information enter legal name date of birth home address website information if you do not have a website, you can enter your social media page (instagram, facebook, etc ) www shopmakers ca as a placeholder if you do not have a customer service phone number, use 000 000 0000 step 4 add your bank account enter your banking information for payouts make sure your account number and transit/institution numbers are correct the account holder name matches your legal or business name exactly step 5 complete verification stripe may ask for additional information or documents this can include identity verification government issued id selfie verification (liveness check) business verification business registration documents tax registration information address verification proof of address, such as a utility bill verification may take a few minutes or several business days this is normal important do not use the same document for identity and address verification stripe requires separate documents common setup issues the stripe setup link will not open if you see a blank screen or error message, the most common cause is a blocked pop up try the following chrome click the three dots in the top right go to settings select privacy and security select site settings select pop ups and redirects allow connect stripe com edge
